How to make the jump

  • Reinvest what you earn in more stock instead of spending it, at least for the first months.
  • Buy in volume: bundles, shop clearances, returns. More margin, but more risk that something won’t sell.
  • Track stock in a sheet: what you have, what it cost and since when. Anything over 2 months unsold, reduce it.
  • Your own customers: a social profile, a customer WhatsApp group, even a small online shop.

Paperwork as you grow

If you buy to resell regularly, it’s an economic activity: register with the tax office and as self-employed. For used goods there’s the special scheme for second-hand goods (REBU): you pay VAT only on what you earn, not on the whole price. Ask a gestoría when you reach this point.
