AI for studying
Used well, AI is like a private tutor who never gets tired of your questions. Used badly, it’s a way of learning nothing.
How to use it to really learn
- Get simple explanations: “Explain Ohm’s law with an example from a car”.
- Get quizzed: “Ask me 10 exam-style questions on this topic, one at a time, and correct me”.
- Summarise your notes: paste in your own notes (not someone else’s) and ask for an outline.
- Find your mistakes: “I’ll explain what I understood and you tell me what’s wrong”.
1StudyRead or watch the class.
2ExplainTell the AI what you understood.
3CorrectLet it point out the mistakes.
4Test yourselfLet it quiz you without looking.
No cheating
If you ask it to do your homework or assignment, you hand in something you can’t do. In the exam, an interview or at work, it shows. Many schools also treat it as cheating.
AI also gets class topics wrong. If something doesn’t match your notes or what the teacher said, the teacher wins.
