What dropshipping is (and what it isn’t)

Dropshipping is a way of selling online without holding stock. You build the shop and find the customer; when someone buys, you pass the order to a supplier, and the supplier ships it straight to the customer’s home.

1The customer buysPays €39.95 in your online shop.
2You order from the supplierYou pay them, for example, €10 including shipping.
3The supplier shipsSends the parcel to the customer, usually without your brand.
4You keep the differenceBut VAT, ads, fees and returns all come out of that difference.

What it is

  • A marketing and customer service business. Your real job is finding customers, convincing them and solving their problems.
  • A way to start selling without buying stock up front.
  • A legal model in Spain, as long as you follow the same rules as any shop.

What it isn’t

  • It isn’t passive income. You have to find products, run ads, answer messages and handle complaints every day.
  • It isn’t free. The shop, the domain and above all the ads cost money every month, whether you sell or not.
  • It doesn’t free you from responsibility. For the customer and the law, you are the seller, even if someone else ships the product.
Your own shopShopify, WooCommerce… You control the website, but you have to bring the visitors yourself (usually with ads).
MarketplaceAmazon, eBay, TikTok Shop… They already have customers, but they have strict rules and many ban or limit dropshipping from AliExpress.
SupplierWhoever makes or stores the product and ships it: AliExpress, CJ, an agent in China or a wholesaler in Spain/EU.
MarginWhat you keep from each sale after paying all costs. It isn’t the selling price minus the supplier price.
In this course you’ll see the part the videos leave out: the real numbers, the law in Spain and how to test with little money before risking more.
