Security and scams

  • Turn on two-step verification (2FA) with an app (Google Authenticator), not by SMS.
  • Never share your seed phrase. No real support team will ever ask for it.
  • Always check the web address: there are fake copies of exchanges.
  • Before sending a lot of money, send a small test amount and use the right network.

Typical scams

“I’ll double your crypto”Send 1 and I’ll send back 2. It’s always a lie.
Signal groupsThey charge you, or get you to buy something they already own so they can sell it when you push the price up (pump & dump).
High fixed-return investments“10 % a month guaranteed”. It doesn’t exist. It’s a pyramid scheme.
Romance or social media “friend”Someone meets you online and ends up asking you to invest in “their platform”.
Golden rule: if it sounds too good to be true, it’s a scam.
